01 · MODES & RUNS
What kind of run are you playing?
The five-level format stays familiar. What changes by mode is the identity of the run and what the result means.
Today’s shared run
The current date defines the intended five-level challenge. Players on the same date receive the same intended run.

A previous Daily 5 date
Select a previous date and open that date’s intended Daily 5 context. Vault is an archive route, not a random replacement run.

A newly generated run
Unlimited runs are created for that play context rather than tied to a shared public date. Keep playing, practising or experimenting whenever you want another five levels.

The hidden identity behind the run
A seed is best understood as hidden run identity. Players do not need to see it, enter it or manage it.
Its player-facing value is stability: the right puzzle stays attached to the right date, mode, save state, share output and post-game analysis.
The Wiki explains what seeds do for players. It does not publish seed formulas, future answer schedules or generation internals.
02 · SCORES & PROGRESS
Read the result at a glance
How to Play owns the full scoring explanation. The Wiki keeps the reference points together.
Ascendle streaks are based on the quality of completed runs. Gold and Silver protect the streak; Bronze breaks it. A missed calendar date is simply a date not completed in the normal Daily 5 flow, and previous dates belong in Calendar Vault.
The full five-level result
Your average complete game result for the selected mode. It answers the broad question: how are my full runs performing?
The board-by-board view
Your average performance per individual level. It answers a different question: how efficiently am I solving the boards inside those runs?
03 · PLAYING & CONTROLS
The board is a working surface
Ascendle’s input tools are designed to support thinking on the live row without turning the game into a live solver.
Letters can be placed and edited on the live row rather than forcing every idea into a strict left-to-right entry pattern.
Known Green letters carry forward so you can focus on unresolved positions. Standard play retains more freedom; Hard Mode preserves confirmed information as part of the rule discipline.
The question mark is a word-shape marker. It does not reveal a letter or act as a wildcard solve; it simply lets you hold an unknown position while testing the rest of the shape.
Auto-Check helps confirm when the five-letter construction on the live row is a valid guess, reducing invalid-word friction while the decision remains yours.
Configure how supported modes begin
Opening Strategy can use a Custom opener, Random opener, Chained strategy or five-word Loadout. Where Auto-Submit Word is enabled, the configured opener can be committed automatically.
It removes repeated first-guess setup. The route after the first feedback remains entirely in the player’s hands.
Revealed information becomes a rule
Hard Mode uses the same Green, Amber and Slate feedback, but future guesses must respect revealed information according to the Hard Mode rules.
That changes the strategic space: some Standard evaluators may no longer be legal once the board has revealed information.
A player-controlled scratchpad
Use PAD to hold candidate words, positions, repeated-letter ideas, evaluator options or word-family groups while you think.
It is not a hint engine or solver. It organises your thinking without making the decision for you.
04 · ACCOUNT & CLOUD
Keep the right history with the right player
The account layer is about continuity, not changing the puzzle rules.
Why sign in?
An account connects supported progress and ownership to you rather than leaving everything dependent on one browser or device.
What does Cloud Save do?
Where sync is available, Cloud Save helps connect progress, completed results, stats, streak history and unlocks to the correct account and run context.
Signing in does not make every mode mean the same thing. Daily, Vault and Unlimited keep their own run identities and statistical meaning; Cloud continuity helps preserve the correct history around them.
05 · SHARING
Why some boards hide the route
Ascendle sharing follows run identity. Shared date-based puzzles protect the board; unique Unlimited runs can support open route discussion.
